Ethiopian Airlines (ET) resumes Addis Ababa (ADD) - Atlanta (ATL) service

Ethiopian Airlines has officially resumed service between Addis Ababa and Atlanta, re-establishing an air bridge between East Africa and the southern United States and marking a notable return within the carrier’s long-haul network.

The reinstatement of this route carries significance beyond a simple schedule addition. Addis Ababa serves as Africa’s diplomatic and aviation gateway, while Atlanta stands as a major U.S. economic powerhouse with strong appeal for trade, investment, and diaspora communities. By returning to this city pair, Ethiopian Airlines is not only strengthening connectivity between two dynamic hubs, but also reinforcing its position as an African carrier with an extensive network, supporting passenger flows and commerce across the Atlantic.

In the initial phase, the airline is operating three weekly flights with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The outbound service includes a technical stop in Rome, while the return sector operates nonstop from Atlanta to Addis Ababa, creating a flexible operating structure for the long-haul market.

Addis Ababa is the political heart of Africa, where busy boulevards meet the distinctive atmosphere of the highlands and the depth of Ethiopia’s history.
