Thai AirAsia (FD) launches seasonal Bangkok (DMK) - Seoul (ICN) service
Thai AirAsia has officially inaugurated its seasonal route between Bangkok and Seoul, adding another high-energy air link between Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia at the peak of travel demand. The launch from early May underscores the carrier’s push to strengthen its presence on high-volume international corridors while expanding affordable travel options in both directions.
The significance of this service extends well beyond a simple leisure connection. Bangkok is one of the region’s most dynamic aviation gateways, drawing leisure, shopping and transfer traffic, while Seoul stands as one of Asia’s leading centers for culture, technology and consumer activity. In a market already served by multiple airlines, Thai AirAsia is seeking to differentiate itself through daily frequency, convenient accessibility and the strength of its broader Bangkok network, which links to numerous domestic destinations across Thailand as well as international cities. In doing so, the airline is positioned to stimulate two-way demand and further deepen flows in trade, tourism and cultural exchange.
The route is operated daily with the Airbus A320neo, providing stable seat capacity throughout the peak season. The daily round-trip schedule also gives passengers greater flexibility to plan both short breaks and longer holidays.
Bangkok is a city of compelling contrasts, where modern shopping complexes stand alongside gilded temples and vibrant night markets. From the Thai capital, travelers can continue onward to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its temple complexes and palace ruins that reflect the grandeur of ancient Siam. This blend of urban energy and deep historical heritage is what makes Bangkok such an inspiring point of departure.
Seoul appeals through its high-tech pace of life, bustling shopping boulevards and neighborhoods that preserve the essence of Korean identity. The city is also a gateway to Changdeokgung, the UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its harmonious palace architecture and exquisite rear garden, embodying the refined aesthetics of the Joseon dynasty. From the timeless beauty of hanok villages to the appeal of its cuisine and contemporary cultural wave, Seoul continues to give travelers every reason to return.
