Porter Airlines Canada officially launches nonstop Ottawa–Kelowna service
Porter Airlines Canada has officially launched nonstop service between Ottawa and Kelowna, adding a notable new link between the Canadian capital and one of the Okanagan Valley’s leading leisure destinations. The new route immediately expands trans-Canada travel options for both business and leisure passengers, while significantly reducing journey times between the eastern and western parts of the country.
The launch underscores Porter Airlines Canada’s network expansion strategy, which is not limited to traditional hubs but also targets markets with strong growth in leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives demand. With Kelowna serving as a key gateway to British Columbia’s premier wine, resort and outdoor recreation region, the new service strengthens direct connectivity with Ottawa, where travel demand is supported by government, corporate and a stable residential base.
Porter Airlines Canada operates the route five times weekly using the Embraer E195-E2, offering a new-generation narrowbody product with strong operating efficiency on medium- and longer-haul domestic sectors.
Ottawa is not only Canada’s political center, but also a destination rich in character, home to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and a renowned cluster of national museums. The city offers an appealing blend of capital-city prestige and a vibrant year-round cultural scene.
At the other end of the route, Kelowna is known for the blue waters of Okanagan Lake, expansive vineyards and the distinctive hill country of British Columbia’s interior. It is an ideal destination for travelers drawn to nature, cuisine, wine and four-season getaways.
