Norwegian resumes Stockholm–Milan route today

Norwegian has officially resumed nonstop service between Stockholm and Milan, restoring an important Northern Europe–Southern Europe link to the market in time for the peak summer travel season. The reinstated route gives passengers a convenient new option between Sweden and Italy’s leading economic and fashion hub.

Strategically, the Stockholm–Milan route strengthens Norwegian’s presence on major European leisure and business corridors while enhancing connectivity between Scandinavia and northern Italy. The move is also notable as the airline continues to optimize its network around routes with clear two-way demand, ranging from leisure travelers to corporate passengers. On this route, Norwegian will compete with SAS.

In the initial phase, the airline will operate several flights per week, increasing gradually to 4 round trips per week from June, using Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

Stockholm is one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, spread across an archipelago where waterways and green spaces are woven into the urban landscape. The city draws visitors with Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum, while also serving as a Nordic center for innovation, technology and design.

At the other end of the route, Milan stands out as Italy’s financial and fashion capital, where modern energy blends with a rich historical heritage. Visitors can explore the magnificent Duomo, the renowned La Scala opera house and Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” before continuing onward to the lakes and the Alps of northern Italy.
