Route Type New Route

Air Cairo has officially inaugurated a new route linking Cairo and Tripoli, adding an important air bridge between Egypt and Libya. The new service not only expands travel options for passengers, but also provides fresh momentum for trade, labor mobility, and regional exchange across North Africa.

Air Cairo’s entry into Tripoli carries significance beyond the addition of a single route. Cairo is one of the region’s leading aviation, economic, and cultural hubs, while Tripoli serves as Libya’s strategic Mediterranean gateway. A nonstop link between these two key cities significantly reduces travel time compared with connecting itineraries, creating clear advantages for business travelers, expatriate communities, and passengers visiting friends and relatives. As the North African aviation market continues its gradual recovery, the new route also strengthens Air Cairo’s strategic position amid competition from other carriers already active in this market.

Under the operating schedule, the airline will serve the route with four weekly round trips between the two cities. Aircraft assigned to the service include the Airbus A320 and Embraer E190, aligning with market demand while providing flexibility in capacity deployment.

Cairo is a city where history and modernity move in parallel within a vibrant urban rhythm. From the Egyptian capital, travelers can easily access ancient Memphis and the pyramid complexes stretching from Giza to Dahshur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its outstanding value to ancient Egyptian civilization. Beyond its millennia-old heritage, Cairo also captivates visitors with traditional bazaars, world-class museums, and a dynamic city life unfolding along the Nile.

Tripoli stands out for its Mediterranean atmosphere, seaside boulevards, and the cultural depth of a city shaped by the intersection of multiple civilizations. Its old quarter, with narrow lanes, traditional souks, and historic architecture, gives the city a distinctive appeal. From Tripoli, passengers can also explore nearby Leptis Magna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved Roman ruins, where triumphal arches, public squares, and ancient theaters recount the grandeur of North Africa’s classical past.
