Air Arabia Abu Dhabi (3L) launches Abu Dhabi (AUH) – Amman (ADJ) route, creating a new bridge between the Gulf and Jordan
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will officially launch nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Amman on 1 May 2026, marking a notable expansion of the carrier’s regional network. The addition of Jordan’s capital not only brings a destination rich in cultural depth into the airline’s portfolio, but also strengthens direct connectivity between two dynamic Middle Eastern hubs.
The new route clearly reflects the airline’s ambition to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s role as a key aviation gateway in the region, while offering added convenience for business, VFR and leisure traffic in both directions. On one end is Abu Dhabi, distinguished by strong investment momentum, modern infrastructure and a rising profile on the global economic map; on the other is Amman, Jordan’s political, commercial and cultural center, and a gateway to the Levant’s most iconic heritage sites and landscapes. By linking the two cities nonstop, the service shortens journey times, delivers a clear time-saving advantage and supports the recovery and growth of regional travel demand.
The route will be operated with three weekly round-trip flights using Airbus A320 aircraft. This operating pattern reflects a flexible approach aligned with market demand during the route’s initial phase, while also laying the groundwork for future growth.
Abu Dhabi presents a compelling blend of modern ambition and deeply rooted Arab identity. The city stands out for its waterfront boulevards, landmark cultural institutions and refined lifestyle along the Arabian Gulf. From there, travelers can also explore the Al Ain oasis, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its ancient settlements, stone tombs and traditional falaj irrigation system, all of which reflect a long history of human habitation in the desert. That depth of heritage makes Abu Dhabi more than a transit point; it is a destination in its own right.
Amman welcomes visitors with its limestone hills, traditional souqs and youthful, open urban energy. The city serves as an ideal gateway to Jordan, from the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum to the shores of the Dead Sea and, above all, Petra, the UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for monuments carved directly into rose-red sandstone cliffs. Petra’s archaeological significance, architectural distinction and striking visual impact have made it one of the world’s most remarkable tourism icons. With the new route, access to that treasure is now closer than ever.
