Arajet launches Punta Cana–Mendoza route

Arajet has officially inaugurated a new route linking Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic with Mendoza in Argentina, adding an important new link to the airline’s regional network expansion strategy. The new service creates a nonstop connection between one of the Caribbean’s leading leisure hubs and the renowned wine capital of western Argentina.

Adding Mendoza to the network not only strengthens Arajet’s presence in South America, but also provides fresh momentum for two-way tourism flows. With Punta Cana serving as a premier beach resort gateway and Mendoza positioned as a destination known for wine tourism, gastronomy and Andean scenery, the route shows clear potential in both the leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives segments.

In the initial phase, Arajet is operating three weekly round-trip flights on the route using the Boeing 737 MAX 8, reflecting a measured approach while still establishing a stable presence in the new market.

Punta Cana has long been an icon of Caribbean tourism, known for its white-sand beaches, palm-lined coastline and large-scale beachfront resorts. The area also serves as a gateway to the crystal-clear waters of the eastern Dominican Republic, where upscale resort travel is closely associated with a signature tropical experience.

In the opposite direction, Mendoza ranks among Argentina’s most compelling cities, globally recognized for its Malbec vineyards, wine tourism circuits and dramatic setting at the foot of the Andes. The city is also a well-established starting point for journeys to Aconcagua, Independence Square and the tree-lined boulevards that define the character of western Argentina.
