WestJet (WS) launches Edmonton (YEG) - Terrace (YXT) route

WestJet has officially inaugurated nonstop service between Edmonton and Terrace, adding a new link to its domestic Canadian network. The new route not only shortens travel time between Alberta and northern British Columbia, but also provides additional convenient connectivity options for business travelers, visiting friends and relatives traffic, and leisure passengers.

The route carries clear strategic significance by linking one of western Canada’s most dynamic economic centres with a key gateway to northwestern British Columbia. Edmonton is a major hub for commerce, energy and services, while Terrace plays an important role in resource industries, logistics and the growing travel needs of the local community. With no competing operator currently identified on the sector, WestJet’s nonstop service delivers a meaningful time advantage while strengthening onward connections through the carrier’s broader domestic and international network.

In the initial phase, the route is being operated with two weekly round trips using the De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400. From early June, frequency will be adjusted to one weekly round trip, in line with market demand and the airline’s capacity optimization strategy.
