Route Type New Route

AirSERBIA has officially inaugurated a new route between Belgrade and Nizhny Novgorod, establishing another notable air link between Serbia and Russia. The launch not only adds a new nonstop travel option for passengers, but also sends a clear signal of the airline’s ambition to expand its presence across high-potential market corridors in Eastern Europe and the wider Eurasian region.

The nonstop service significantly shortens journey times between the Serbian capital and one of Russia’s key industrial and technology centers, where manufacturing, research, and trade activity continue to accelerate. In the opposite direction, Belgrade further reinforces its role as a strategic Balkan gateway, offering convenient onward connections to numerous destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, and nearby markets. With no direct competitor currently operating the sector, the new route carries clear strategic weight as AirSERBIA leverages its network strengths to deepen connectivity and stimulate two-way business, VFR, and leisure demand.

In the initial phase, the route is being operated with two weekly round trips using the Airbus A319. This setup reflects a cautious yet flexible approach, sufficient to meet current market demand while preserving room for growth in upcoming peak seasons.

Belgrade is a city where history and contemporary energy intersect compellingly at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. Kalemegdan Fortress, tree-lined boulevards, and a vibrant café culture give the Balkan capital a distinctive identity. From here, travelers can also connect to Gamzigrad-Romuliana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its late Roman palace complex and the valuable cultural layers it preserves from ancient Europe.

Nizhny Novgorod stands out for its position as a major city at the meeting point of the Volga and Oka rivers, where a long commercial heritage meets modern development. The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, expansive embankments, and contemporary art spaces give the city an appeal that is both historic and youthful. It is also an ideal starting point for experiencing the cultural depth of the Volga region, an area rich in identity within the broader landscape of Russia.
