Technical Issue DetailsDuring pushback from adjacent gates at Baltimore/Washington International Airport, two Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft (flights WN1048 to Hartford and WN562 to Houston) came into contact, damaging their wingtips.
Outcome / HandlingNo injuries were reported among the passengers or crew members on either flight. Both airplanes sustained wingtip damage, were removed from service for maintenance, and the scheduled flights were cancelled.
