Porter Airlines officially launches Toronto–Québec City route

Porter Airlines has officially inaugurated a new route linking Toronto and Québec City, adding a notable new option to Canada’s domestic market. The service shortens the distance between the country’s largest financial centre and the French-speaking capital of Québec province, while strengthening connectivity for both business and leisure travellers.

The launch underscores Porter’s strategy to expand its presence in Eastern Canada, where demand for travel between major urban centres remains steady. Beyond its network significance, the Toronto–Québec City route also increases direct competitive pressure on Air Canada, giving passengers more choice in both product offering and scheduling.

During the launch phase, the airline is operating five weekly round trips with the Embraer E195-E2, before maintaining a similar frequency from early June.

Toronto is Canada’s economic powerhouse, known for its modern skyline, the CN Tower and a vibrant waterfront along Lake Ontario. The city also serves as a multicultural gateway, where visitors can explore everything from the Distillery Historic District to some of the country’s leading museums and theatres.

In the opposite direction, Québec City ranks among North America’s most charming destinations, with its Old Québec district recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Cobblestone streets, the iconic Château Frontenac and sweeping views over the Saint Lawrence River give this historic city its distinctive appeal.
