Eastar Jet officially resumes Busan–Almaty service from today
Eastar Jet has officially resumed nonstop round-trip service between Busan and Almaty today, bringing Central Asia back onto the carrier’s international network map and adding a noteworthy new connectivity option from southern South Korea.
The route’s reinstatement carries strategic significance as Eastar Jet accelerates its international expansion, while also strengthening links between Busan and one of Kazakhstan’s प्रमुख economic centers. The service is also expected to support recovering demand across leisure travel, visiting friends and relatives, and trade between the two markets.
The airline is operating the route twice weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, providing capacity well matched to a niche market with strong long-term growth potential.
With no direct competitor currently serving the sector, Eastar Jet holds a first-mover advantage in re-establishing the air bridge between Busan and Almaty.
Busan is South Korea’s largest port city after Seoul, known for its industrial base, logistics role, and coastal tourism appeal.
Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city and a key financial and cultural center in Central Asia.
