Copa resumes Panama City – Barquisimeto service
Copa has officially resumed service between Panama City and Barquisimeto, marking another step in strengthening its presence in Venezuela and expanding connectivity options via its Panama hub. The relaunch of this route gives travelers in western Venezuela more convenient access to Copa’s extensive network across the Americas.
Strategically, Barquisimeto is an important market due to its role as an economic, commercial, and services center for west-central Venezuela. For Copa, restoring the route not only reinforces its regional network but also enhances its competitive position in the Panama–Venezuela corridor, where it competes with Rutaca Airlines.
The route is operated twice weekly with Boeing 737-700 aircraft, providing a reliable travel option for business, visiting friends and relatives, and international connecting traffic.
Panama City is Central America’s leading air gateway, best known for the iconic Panama Canal and the UNESCO-listed Casco Viejo district. The city blends a modern financial landscape with distinctive historical heritage, making it highly attractive to both business travelers and tourists.
Barquisimeto, meanwhile, is recognized as one of Venezuela’s largest and most dynamic cities, often regarded as the country’s cultural and musical capital. The city stands out for its broad avenues, vibrant commercial activity, and landmarks such as the Divina Pastora church, a spiritual and historical symbol of the region.
