Air India officially launches nonstop Delhi–Hanoi service
Air India has officially inaugurated a new nonstop route between Delhi and Hanoi, marking a notable step forward in the airline’s Southeast Asia network expansion strategy. The new service immediately adds another direct connectivity option between India and Vietnam, serving growing demand across business travel, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives.
Air India’s entry into this market underscores the rising importance of the India–Vietnam air corridor, while also increasing competitive pressure on incumbent carriers such as VietJet Air and Vietnam Airlines. With Hanoi serving as the political, economic, and cultural gateway to northern Vietnam, the new route also reinforces Delhi’s role as a key Air India hub.
Effective immediately, the airline is operating five weekly round-trip flights on the route using the Airbus A321neo.
Delhi is India’s capital and a megacity that serves as the country’s political, commercial, and aviation center. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, stands out as an administrative and cultural hub as well as an increasingly attractive destination in the region.
