Delta Air Lines (DL) launches New York (JFK) - Olbia (OLB) route

Delta Air Lines has officially inaugurated nonstop service between New York and Olbia, creating a new air link between the U.S. East Coast and the Italian island of Sardinia. The launch marks a notable step in the carrier’s transatlantic expansion strategy while adding another premium connectivity option for the summer leisure travel segment.

The move into Olbia underscores Delta Air Lines’ focus on rising demand between a global financial, cultural and tourism hub such as New York and one of the Mediterranean’s most attractive gateways. The nonstop route is particularly valuable in significantly reducing travel time and providing more convenient access to the renowned Costa Smeralda coastline. Via its New York hub, passengers can also connect to Delta Air Lines’ extensive North American network, supporting stronger inbound international traffic to Sardinia and reinforcing links between the U.S. and Italy’s high-end leisure market.

The route is operated several times weekly with the Boeing 767-300, aligned with peak transatlantic travel demand. The schedule has been structured to optimize connectivity at both ends of the network, supporting both point-to-point leisure travelers and connecting passengers.
