Norwegian Air Sweden has officially resumed nonstop service between Stockholm and Montpellier, restoring an air link last operated in August 2019. The relaunch not only reconnects another segment of the carrier’s European network, but also provides a more convenient travel option between Sweden and southern France.

The route’s return is particularly significant as demand for leisure travel, visiting friends and relatives, and intra-European business flows continues to recover. Stockholm is the economic, technology and innovation capital of the Nordic region, while Montpellier stands out as a vibrant university, research and metropolitan center on the Mediterranean. This exclusive nonstop service substantially reduces journey times and creates an efficient air bridge between two highly complementary markets in tourism, education and services.

In the initial phase, the airline is operating the route with a frequency of two weekly roundtrips, before reducing to one weekly roundtrip from early June. Aircraft assigned to the service include the Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8, matching evolving market demand across different phases.

Stockholm blends refined Nordic elegance with a modern creative pulse. Spread across an archipelago of small islands, the city attracts visitors with the historic Gamla Stan district, world-class museums and picturesque waterfront settings. From the Swedish capital, journeys can also extend to Skogskyrkogården, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Woodland Cemetery, recognized for its unique integration of architecture, landscape and humanistic depth.

Montpellier embodies a youthful, open Mediterranean spirit with a strong academic character. Its sunlit squares, graceful boulevards and southern French culinary scene give the city a distinctive appeal. From Montpellier, travelers can also easily reach Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient Roman aqueduct bridge, a symbol of the engineering excellence and civilizational scale of the ancient world.
