Lufthansa City officially launches Munich–Jersey route

Lufthansa City Airlines has officially inaugurated a new route linking Munich and Jersey, adding a notable nonstop connection between southern Germany and the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. The new service immediately broadens travel options for both leisure and business passengers, while further strengthening the airline’s European network presence.

The addition of Jersey to Lufthansa’s Munich route map reflects the group’s selective expansion strategy in promising niche markets. For travelers in Bavaria and across Munich Airport’s catchment area, the route shortens the journey to an upscale island destination while also creating more convenient connecting opportunities via one of Europe’s key aviation hubs.

In the initial phase, Lufthansa is operating the route with one weekly round trip using an Airbus A319, a capacity profile aligned with seasonal demand and the destination’s market characteristics.

Munich is one of Europe’s most distinctive cities, renowned for Marienplatz, Nymphenburg Palace, and the signature festive atmosphere of Bavaria. The city also serves as a gateway to the Alps, combining economic strength, cultural depth, and year-round tourism appeal.

In the opposite direction, Jersey draws visitors with its dramatic coastline, golden-sand bays, and rich historical heritage as an island positioned between Britain and France.
